Training and Search on the Job
The paper studies human capital accumulation over workers? careers in an on the job search setting with heterogenous firms. In renegotiation proof employment con- tracts, more productive firms provide more training. Both general and specific training induce higher wages within jobs, and with future employers, even conditional on the future employer type. Because matches do not internalize the specific capital loss from employer changes, specific human capital can be over-accumulated, more so in low type firms. Sorting in the Labor Market
Do high-ability workers typically work for more productive firms? If so, then we say there is positive sorting between firms and workers in the labor market. In this article, we review evidence on sorting and conclude that it is positive and has been increasing for men in the last several decades. Stronger positive sorting is viewed as one reason behind increasing wage inequality.

Do vouchers lead to sorting under random private-school selection? Evidence from the Milwaukee voucher program
This paper analyzes the impact of voucher design on student sorting in the application and enrollment phases of parental choice. More specifically, it investigates whether there are feasible ways of designing vouchers that can reduce or eliminate student sorting in these phases. Much of the existing literature investigates the question of sorting where private schools can screen students.
