Economic opportunities in rural America -- and elsewhere

Abstract: High technology and e-business, value-added business, and entrepreneurship are seen by rural stakeholders across America as primary opportunities for economic development in small communities. This publication explores how these concepts have been turned into reality in Aurora, Nebraska, Shelbina, Missouri, and Paxico, Kansas. We also found that successful efforts to create economic opportunities have much in common -- in these three small communities, and in communities of all sizes and types in all kinds of places.
